Talks on Truth – New Class – Tuesdays
Adeline Mickens begins a new class on Tuesday, August 8th, at 6:00 pm. Note that this is a different day of the week than previous book studies with Adeline. The book, Talks on Truth, is a classic by Charles Fillmore. Talks on Truth presents fourteen enlightening talks by Unity’s co-founder exploring the metaphysical aspects of Christianity, and the basic principles of the Unity movement. We have several copies of the book in the library for you to borrow and free copies available from Rev. Toni. (A love gift to UL would be appropriate.)
Wednesday evening, September 13th at Unity Lincoln we will join together at 6:30pm for our own sacred service.
At 7 pm we will join the 24th World Day of Prayer Opening Ceremony via LiveStreaming.
The keynote speaker, Rev. Linda Martella-Whitsett, vice president of Silent Unity, will speak with music presented by Jana Stanfield. A highlight will be her song: “I Am, the Power of Peace!”
Please visit www.unity.org/wdop to get more information about World Day of Prayer.
You are also invited to light a virtual candle (www.unity.org/wdop/candle), along with people from all over the world to hold for peace. Zoom in on the map to get to Unity Lincoln and see the candles we have lit. This is a fun thing that your kids can do, too!
Let’s see how many candles we can light for Unity Lincoln!
Peace in the Midst
Thursday, September 14th
“I am Peace in the Midst of All Matters!”
Unity Celebrates the 24th Annual World Day of Prayer. We’ve begun to collect prayers to take to Unity Village on World Day of Prayer.
“World Day of Prayer gives us an opportunity to come together in celebration of our oneness with God, each other, and our world. Through prayer we foster peace and wholeness in our community and in our individual lives.” Please get in touch with Rev. Toni if you wish to travel together to Unity Village for this year’s event.
Metaphysics
I like to think of Metaphysics as a process by which we arrive at philosophical answers that satisfy our need for understanding. Great teachers of the past can give us insight into truth but ultimately, it is what we think and how we feel that determines our reality. It is our consciousness that shapes our experience. This class will give us an opportunity to examine what we think, feel and believe. Then we can decide if it still works and perhaps change our mind if needed. Change your mind and you can change your life! Please join me Sunday mornings, at 9:00 am. ~ Rev. Evan Coleman, LUT
Sunday Service
Please join us each week for moving music,
a great Unity message, and a caring community!
NAMASTE!
Sunday School
Children are always welcome to stay in our service. Younger children may enjoy leaving adults right after service begins. Please have your children accompany you in the sanctuary to join in our joy singing. They are then invited to go upstairs as the service proceeds through the meditation and talk. The Sunday School teacher will lead them upstairs for activities, play and snacks. Near the close of the service around 11:30am, children will be led back to re-join the congregation and receive a blessing from the congregation.
Oh, how we Love to Share!
Bring your favorite casserole, some fruit or nuts, a dessert, or just you and your family!
There is always plenty to go around so make plans to join us each
3rd Sunday of every month, directly following service,
in our Unity Cafe.
