Grief is a natural part of our life experience and it must be processed if we are to stay healthy. Many of us are grieving at Unity Lincoln. We have lost friends, spouses, dreams, and more.
Science has learned that the stress of grief is cumulative and the window of affect (the time it takes for the stressor to dissipate its energy through our bodies and minds) is no less than two years. It can take much longer and rob us of quality of life if not acknowledged and worked with. Even small losses can affect our health and sense of wellbeing. Large losses always do. So whether a loss is small or large, there is an effect on the body and mind. What that effect is depends on how we work with it and process it.
This is an opportunity to share our feelings and experiences in a loving circle of support. It is a covenanted circle so “what is said here, stays here.” In addition to listening and talking, we will do a healing exercise, visioning, and a burning.
